FLOWERS: . Flower garlands and tiny iridescent blooms tucked into ponytails and casual updos are in! Models from Ana Sui, Honor, and Dolce and Gabbana have all been seen sporting floral adorned tresses this season.

GOLD ACCESSORIES:  Gold metallic hair accessories have also been spotted on several fashion runways.   Gold barrettes, clips or pins are perfect for adding a focal point, dressing up braids & ponytails, and pinning back tousled locks and curls.

balayage highlights

While balayage highlights are typically considered the ultimate  way to dress up summer hair, this specialty hair color technique is really perfect for any time of year.  The soft, sun-kissed look is more natural looking that traditional foil highlights and more easily customized.

  womens short layered bob haircut

Side swept bangs and short hair styles will be among the trends for 2014.   If your face shape is small and petite or triangle shaped, a layered bob or pixie cut can be the perfect way to accent your facial features.  If you're nervous about going from long to short, you can get a sneak preview of how a short style will look by trying on a wig that is similar to the haircut that you are considering.

Curls and loose, tousled waves are in this year!  If your hair is not naturally curly, schedule an appointment for a permanent wave.   Perms of today have come a long way and different options are available to give you volume, wave, spirals, and more.

  • First shampoo your hair and then towel-dry.  Apply styling product to the roots to create texture and hold.
  • Next, section the hair and blow-dry using a round brush. Brush away from the roots to create volume.
  • Make a part down the center of your hair and brush hair to create bounce and fullness.  If you want fuller, longer-lasting waves, use large rollers to set your hair.  Separate your hair into top, middle and bottom sections and then roll your hair in the direction that you want the waves to be (either up or under)
  • Remove rollers. Spray hairspray on a paddle hairbrush and then gently use the brush to comb hair away from the center part to create bouncy waves.  (Remember never to directly spray hairspray on the hair for this look)
